Biography and facts

Practice
Jamie Holman is a British artist based in Blackburn, Lancashire. He works in painted silk banners, tapestry, ceramic, stained glass, print and film, often made alongside heritage craftspeople and industrial fabricators. His work recovers the culture working people built for themselves: hand-loom poets and blacksmith painters, union marches and football terraces, and the acid house generation who turned empty cotton mills into dancefloors.
Roles
Associate artist for The British Textile Biennial. Board member of The National Festival of Making.
Selected works

HOWL (2021), a performance work in which 150 people howled in memory of the last wolf in England. Flashback, an oral-history archive of the Blackburn acid house parties of 1988 to 1991.
